“The two most engaging powers of a good author are to make new things familiar and familiar things new.”
- William Makepeace Thackeray-

Familiar is a book comprised of images of 4" x 5"silver gelatine prints which have been used in the place of film in a large format camera, and images of feathers which have been made through the process of scanning. Familiar draws on the the use of both the positive and negative image to create a narrative between the two. Both of the images are the same; yet one reveals what the other doesn't.
